Welcome to our Fall 2016 Shadowbase Products Group Newsletter! Thank you for your continued interest in HPE Shadowbase!

This has been a busy fall season for us, and we hope that you were either able to meet up with us or plan to attend and meet with us at one of the regional or global shows and conferences. See our upcoming tradeshows for more information on where we will be in the coming months, or feel free to contact us and request a more personal meeting.

We are excited to report that we are very busy assisting customers deploy new HPE Shadowbase solutions, and are awed by some of the HPE Shadowbase Zero Downtime Migration (ZDM) projects customers have recently undertaken. HPE Shadowbase ZDM technology is about providing full application services across incredibly complex migrations and upgrades, while eliminating the risk inherent in such activities. Whether you are upgrading your operating system or application or database, performing a system migration, or implementing some other form of heterogeneous integration, HPE Shadowbase ZDM is the most reliable method for avoiding planned downtime and recovering from unplanned downtime should it occur.

In one recent HPE Shadowbase ZDM case, a customer running an active/active business continuity application environment used HPE Shadowbase to relocate the systems in its two existing data centers to two new data centers while performing a hardware-refresh on one of the platforms. The customer also replaced its current replication vendor with HPE Shadowbase, while providing full business continuity fail-back protection with no data loss, had the upgrade/move gone awry. While we typically do not recommend that customers upgrade so much software and hardware all at once, the HPE Shadowbase ZDM approach is so successful at eliminating the business risk, that it makes these kinds of efforts rather straight-forward. We applaud this customer’s successful efforts and have prepared a case study for those who are interested. Please contact us to receive a copy.

If you are attending the HPE NonStop Technical Boot Camp this month at the Fairmont Hotel in San Jose, CA, please stop by Booth #8 and/or attend one of our presentations. We look forward to meeting you at the show and sharing ideas regarding how the HPE Shadowbase product suite can provide solutions to your most pressing business issues for business continuity, data integration and synchronization, and application integration. We hope to see you at one or all of our presentations:

Our first synchronous replication product for HPE NonStop environments, Shadowbase ZDL™, is scheduled for release soon. This release initially will be available from Gravic as a Controlled Availability (CA) release (which basically means we want to stay plugged into the early customer deployments to ensure proper configurations and gather valuable real-time analysis, etc.). It will be available to HPE Shadowbase customers as a “TCD” release until it is available through the HPE channels as a First Customer Ship (FCS). This initial availability means that it should only be used in customer environments for testing purposes, and not for production usage, until FCS.

Shadowbase ZDL provides zero data loss protection for NonStop to NonStop business continuity environments. For details on these new releases and others, please see Shadowbase Development News. We know that our synchronous technology has been a long time in coming; we cannot always foresee the various hurdles we have to cross ahead of time. Please always keep in mind that delivery dates and capabilities for future functionality are not guaranteed and may change without notice.

We deeply appreciate your support and use of our products. Feel free to contact us at any time to discuss what is on your mind. We look forward to hearing from you.

With warm regards,
Paul J. Holenstein
