Almost every single session at BITUG Little SIG mentioned Digital Resilience.

New government regulations such as the Digital Operations Resilience Act (DORA) impose stringent technical requirements on businesses to protect, detect, and recover from information technology incidents.

Data is a key aspect of digital resilience, and ensuring Continuous Availability has never been more important.

Neil Davis (HPE) shared:

• highlights from HPE Discover (held in Barcelona),
• HPE NonStop had a strong performance in Northwestern Europe,
• recent advancements in HPE GreenLake adoption,
• and how high interest rates in the macroeconomy affect the overall NonStop business.

Neil also stressed that BASE24™ can be “run without risk on HPE NonStop,” since it is a tried-and-true application and platform combination.

Sean Bicknell (4TechSoftware) shared:

• how he “went down the Ransomware wormhole on Google,” and looked at various Ransomware hacker groups such as Black Cat and recent statistics.
  • (Graham Rogers (HPE) reminded everyone to be cautious because these hackers track website visitors who search for this information.)
• MGM Casino recently paid a whopping $55M Ransomware payment.

Iain Liston-Brown (HPE) shared:

• an update based on content presented at the Connect TBC related to the Next Gen of HPE NonStop systems and similar updates
• another update based on Digital Resilience on HPE NonStop.

Shiva Subramanian (TCM) presented an overview of the various tools that are freely available today on NS (but that most customers do not know exist or even think about).

David Lock (Comforte) demonstrated H20 Flow, a Machine Learning program that does not require any programming. He demonstrated how to use AI and ML tools to analyze transactions for fraud detection.

The SIG wrapped up with an update from the BITUG AGM (Kevin Poultney, BrightStrand) and a fun Beer Bust held at a local Brew Dog.
