December 4, 2024 — Gravic Announces HPE Shadowbase Version 7.000 for HPE NonStop Servers is Generally Available

Version 7.000 for HPE NonStop Servers (SPR ID: T1122L70) New Features Include:

1. Zero Data Loss (ZDL) is now available for HPE NonStop environments. This mode allows Shadowbase software to run synchronously so that a transaction on the source system will not be committed until the event has been safely replicated to the target system.
2. Queue File Utility (SBQFUTL) allows users to analyze Shadowbase Queue Manager queue files and display the data in a human-readable format.
3. User exit enhancements such as the ability to retrieve a column value that may have been modified by a previous user exit operation, important when data transformation customizations are “stacked.”
4. Skipping Enscribe alternate key files automatically, which is done in the collector as it reads the audit trail.
5. Filtering out empty transactions by the consumer when replicating out to an Other Server target system.
6. Other miscellaneous fixes and usability enhancements.

IMPORTANT:

• A new license file is required to install and run HPE Shadowbase for NonStop Servers software version 6.700 or newer. This is due to a change in the format of the license file, current license terms are still valid and remain in force. Contact the HPE License Manager to request a new license file. DO NOT INSTALL HPE Shadowbase for NonStop Servers software version 6.700 or newer until a new license file has been obtained.
• The data message formats between Shadowbase components have been enhanced to prepare for future Shadowbase improvements. As a result of this change, HPE NonStop Shadowbase software 7.000 is incompatible with previous HPE NonStop Shadowbase versions, hence, all communicating Shadowbase nodes must be upgraded to version 7.000 at the same time.

Obtaining HPE Shadowbase for NonStop Servers 7.000

Shadowbase software is built by Gravic, and globally sold and supported by HPE. HPE NonStop Shadowbase 7.000 is an Independent Product (IP) and is shipped on its own DVD. The Stock Keeping Unit (SKU) list for ordering is given below:

Customers who are already holding licenses for the above SKUs having a valid support contract with HPE can place an order for HPE NonStop Shadowbase 7.000 in NonStop Scout via the NonStop eServices Portal and specify the media format as either DVD or e-delivery.
