One question we often get from customers is where to find our technical documentation for all things Shadowbase software. It is a good question that is not quite as simple as you would expect. In order to answer it properly, it is helpful to point out that there are two different categories of documentation that are published:
Both sets of documents are useful, depending on what you are searching, but they are stored in two separate areas. For manuals, we rely on HPE to publish and host them on its globally-available website.
This website may be confusing to some customers, because these documents are for Gravic Shadowbase rather than HPE Shadowbase. Other customers might also be looking for a Shadowbase manual related to, say, a Windows system running Shadowbase, and the link mentions “NonStop.” Not to worry though, because these web pages are accessible to everyone, not just HPE customers, and they contain all of our manuals regardless of the operating system. This universal link can be used by anyone looking for Shadowbase technical documentation.
When opening this link, you will see a page that looks similar to this:
If you notice, this page indicates that there are hundreds of manuals in this list. How can you limit it to just Shadowbase manuals? The simplest way is just to type “Shadowbase” in the “Find in Manuals” text box at the top and hit Enter, which will filter the list to just the actual Shadowbase manuals that you want.
However, this HPE website does not contain Shadowbase softdocs. In order to locate those, just navigate to one of the following two links on our own Shadowbase website:
These web pages contain tables that show each of our published releases along with links to each softdoc. Simply navigate to the appropriate page and look for the version you want, in order to access its softdoc.
We hope that these instructions will help you the next time that you need to quickly find this information!
